Mighty Savers ride for glory at day one of OCBC Cycle Singapore
The opening day of OCBC Cycle Singapore reached new heights as the professional riders took to the skies, The Mighty Savers™ Kids raced their hearts out on the track and The Cycle of Hope stirred everyone’s emotions.
Over 720 children, aged two to 12, took part in this afternoon’s rides with lots of enthusiastic performances and a fun, family atmosphere both on and off the track. British National Road Race Champion, Kristian House made an appearance to watch some of the local talent and wave the chequered flag for the 10-12 year old Mighty Savers™ Kids Ride.
Next door at the Singapore Flyer, the Kelly Benefit Strategies Cycling Team (Jesse Anthony, Ryan Anderson and Guy East) stepped out of the heat, took to the skies to check out the Singapore sites and the track they’ll be racing on tomorrow.
The day of cycling was wrapped up with The Cycle of Hope for 266 cancer survivors and their supporters. Over $35,000 has been raised by all OCBC Cycle Singapore participants so far for the official charities National Cancer Centre Research Fun and the Singapore Children’s Society.
Day two flags-off at 6am with The Challenge – 40km followed by The Community Challenge – 20km then The Super Challenge- 50km setting off from the Floating Platform at 10.30am.
