  1. When will OCBC Cycle Singapore 2013 be held?

    OCBC Cycle Singapore 2013 will be held from Friday to Sunday, 26-28 April 2013

  3. What are the different categories for OCBC Cycle Singapore 2013?

    You may ride on your own or with your friends and family. View the full list of ride Categories and Prices.

  4. When do the rides start?

    See Event Details and Route Maps for exact starting times for all rides.

  5. Will there be traffic along the route?

    Cyclists will be riding on fully closed roads. However, riders are advised to cycle with caution at all times in the unlikely event that live traffic enters the course.

  6. Will children be cycling among the adults?

    No, The Mighty Savers™ Kids Ride (5km) and the Tricycle Ride (100m & 150m) will be flagged off separately and they will be riding on a different course from the adults. However, parents are allowed to accompany their children in these rides.

  7. Can I accompany my children in the Mighty Savers™ Kids Ride (5km) and the Tricycle Ride (100m & 150m )

    Yes, if your child is riding in the Mighty Savers™ Kids Ride (5km). Sign up for the Mighty Savers™ Kids Accompanying Adult with Child and you will be able to cycle with your children in the 5km route. If your child is riding in the Tricycle Ride (100m & 150m ); he/she can be accompanied by one adult for free.

  8. Can I bring my child along by using a baby seat on my bicycle?

    Yes, children are permitted to ride in a child seat with their parent or guardian in The Community Ride (20km) and The Mighty Savers™ Kids Ride (5km) categories ONLY, as long as the child is able to sit comfortably in a child seat with a width of 25cm or one that complies with the weight specifications of his/her own child seat. A helmet must be worn at all times during the ride. The Event Organiser, Event Sponsors or Co-Sponsors, appointed officials or staff will not be liable or responsible for any mishaps, injury or loss of life that may occur in the course of, or as result of any child riding in a child seat during the event.

  9. Is there a restriction to the type of bicycle I can use for each category?

    Yes. Motorised vehicles, motorbikes, unicycles, tandem bicycles, specialist time trial bikes, bikes with disk wheels and bikes with aero bar, bikes with extension bar, bikes with bull horn handle bar, and fixed wheels with no brakes are not allowed in the event.   10. What types of bicycle are allowed?

  11. If I do not have a bicycle, can I rent one?

  12. Can I store my bike overnight on site at the event?

    Yes, there will be secure overnight bike storage facilities on-site from Satuday, 27 April 2013, 10am until Sunday, 28 April 2013, 3pm.

  13. I am a new cyclist. Can you advise me on training?

    There will be training clinics conducted prior to the event. For more information, please check this cycling clinic page regularly for details on the clinics.

  14. What prizes are available?

    Prizes are reserved for the Criterium participants. Details of the prizes will be provided closer to the event.

  15. Will the event still go on in bad weather?

    In the event of inclement weather, the Event Organiser reserves the right to delay the commencement of the rides. Should bad weather persist, the Event Organiser reserves the right to cancel the race without any refund.

  16. Will there be insurance coverage for participants?

    Yes. All participants are covered by the event’s public liability policy.

  18. Where and when will the OCBC Cycle Singapore 2013 Cycling and Lifestyle Village be held?

    Held at the F1 Pit Building, the Cycle Sinagapore Cycling And Lifestyle Village is a three-day expo, where vendors will have booths displaying the latest cycling accessories, cycling gear, sportswear and bikes, as well as nutrition/ fitness advice and lifestyle related products and services. Food and drinks will also be available. Be sure to check out Cycling & Lifestyle Village for more information.

  19. Can I change my T-shirt / Jersey?

    We cannot exchange sizes as these are produced according to the size you chose when you registered, and there are no spares produced

  20. What is the correct way to wear the bib?

    Your event bib number will be included in the Cycle Pack. The event bib MUST be worn on the right hand, lower part of your back throughout the event. Anyone without an event bib will not be allowed in the Start Zone. (Please write your name and emergency contact person and telephone number on the reverse of your bib).
    Please attach the helmet sticker on the front and both sides of your helmet.
    Don’t forget to attach your bike timing sticker (if applicable) to record your time.

ABOUT REGISTRATION

  1. What are the methods of registration for OCBC Cycle Singapore 2013?

    Registration can ONLY be done online. So register for your ride now while checking out the Categories And Prices. Simply select the ride you'd like to join and follow the registration steps. Credit Card (VISA or MasterCard) or Debit Card payments are accepted. For any other payment enquiries, please contact the Event Organiser, Spectrum Worldwide at info@cyclesingapore.com.sg or call 6799 5909.

  2. How do I register if I am under the age of 21?

    For participants under 21, the registration form will include an additional clause that a parent or legal guardian will have to fill in and give their consent.

  3. Do I get a special discount if I am an OCBC credit card holder?

    Yes, OCBC Credit/Debit Card members will enjoy exclusive registration discounts for OCBC Cycle Singapore 2013. Please refer to the Categories And Prices for the discount you will enjoy.

  4. What do I receive when I register for The Community Ride (20km), the Mighty Savers™ Kids Ride (5km), The Junior Challenge (30min) and The Tricycle Ride (100m & 150m)?

    In addition to a fun-filled day out for the whole family, participants in both The Community Ride (20km), Mighty Savers™ Kids Ride (5km), The Junior Challenge (30min) and The Tricycle Ride (100m & 150m) will receive an exclusive OCBC Cycle Singapore limited edition T-shirt and a goodie bag. Registrants will also get FREE access to the carnival and performances at the F1 Pit Building and have access to the OCBC Cycle Singapore Cycling and Lifestyle Village where they may attend educational seminars and check out the exhibitors' booths. Optional secure overnight bike storage will be available near the starting point on Saturday, 27 April. Finally, participants will be cycling on closed roads with water and sports drinks provided throughout the ride.

  5. What other benefits do I receive when I register for The Super Challenge (61km) or The Challenge (42km)?

    Besides the experience of cycling on closed public roads, participants in The Super Challenge (61km) and The Challenge (42km) will receive a limited edition cycling jersey and a timing sticker (with full results posted online after the event). Participants and their families will be able to enjoy the event carnival and performances at the F1 Pit Building and witness the Professional Criterium race, as well as receive an OCBC Cycle Singapore goodie bag (check the Participant Benefits on this site regularly for content details). Participants can also access the OCBC Cycle Singapore Cycling and Lifestyle Village where they may get special discounts at some exhibitors' booths. Optional secure overnight bike storage will be available at the start area on Saturday, 27 April. Riders will enjoy complimentary water and sports drinks on the course, as well as on-site.

  7. How will I know if my registration entry has been accepted?

    Registrants will receive a confirmation email upon their successful registration. Kindly contact the Event Organiser if you have registered for the ride and have not received any acknowledgement within 24 hours.

  8. Do I pay less if I register for more than one (1) person?

    Yes, there are special packages for teams and families; please refer to the Categories And Prices for all available packages.

  9. When will registrations close?

    Registrations will close at midnight on Monday, 1 April 2013 or sooner should the maximum capacity be reached. No registrations will be accepted after this date.

  10. Can I request a refund after registering?

    No, registration fees are not refundable.

  11. Can I change my ride category after I have registered?

    No, please ensure that you select the right event category during registration. For any specific enquiry, please email us at info@cyclesingapore.com.sg or call the event info line at 6799 5909.

  13. How much does it cost to register for OCBC Cycle Singapore 2013?

    As the prices vary for the different rides, please refer to the Categories And Prices to see the registration fees for all ride categories.

  14. Can I register on behalf of my friends?

    Yes, you may and it will make a great gift for your friends and family. However, do ensure that you fill out their details accurately and they are aware of the terms in the Release & Agreement, as well as, the Rules and Regulations.

  15. What is a timing sticker?

    A timing sticker is a device used to record your ride time. It should be worn while you participate in the event. By opting to use a timing sticker for the event, you will have an official record of your ride time. This will be posted online after the event. The categories with timing stickers are Criterium events, The Super Challenge (61km) and The Challenge (42km).

  16. When will I receive my cycle pack, goodie bag and event apparel?

    The cycle pack, goodie bag and event apparel will be available for collection on Friday, 26 April and Saturday, 27 April from 10am to 9pm at the F1 Pit Building. All participants MUST present their identification card and confirmation upon collection.

  17. How can I register on-site?

    There is no registration on-site. Registration is already closed on April 1.

SERVICES ON EVENT DAY

  1. How do I get to the event venue with my bicycle?

    Many experienced cyclists will choose to cycle to the event. A bike park is also available for participants who would like to leave their bikes at the F1 Pit Building after collecting their cycle packs on Saturday, 27 April. Then, you can take the train to Promenade Station, which is the nearest MRT station from the F1 Pit Building on Sunday, 28 April.

  2. Where can I park my car?

    We suggest parking at the following locations:

    3. Suntec City
    4. Esplanade Theatre
    5. Funan IT Mall

  3. Where can I check my bike before the start? (Pump up the tyres, check the brakes, adjust the saddle etc.)

    Bike mechanic services will be available on site on Event Day. Please check the  Event and Route Maps closer to the event to find out more.

  4. What happens if my bike breaks down?

    There will be neutral service (bike maintenance) along the route to lend assistance. Approach any of the route marshals to find out the location of neutral service along the route. Cost of changing the inner tubes of the bike will be borne by the participant.

  5. Will there be medical services?

    There will be first-aid personnel to offer assistance both en-route and at the start and finish point.

  6. Are there any drink stations on the course?

    Drink stations will be available along the course.

  7. Can I buy food somewhere along the route?

    Food sales will not be available along the route and cyclists leaving the route to make food purchases are doing so at their own risk. Food and beverage will however be available for purchase at the F1 Pit Building.
